Outdoor Musical Instruments

Introducing Freenotes Outdoor Musical Instruments

A revolutionary approach to ensemble play

Freenotes provide a system enabling non-musicians to step into the satisfying experience of playing music solo or in a group.  This collection of instruments is designed to be played together easily because there are no wrong notes. Knowledge of music, keys or scales is not necessary.  Freenotes provide a unique way of interacting through spontaneous creative expression.  Playing music is fun and easy for both young and old and the sounds created are always pleasing.

Great for school playgrounds, municipal parks or community projects, these instruments can be installed in any combination.  Consultation is available to help you choose the right ensemble for the setting and your budget.

We highly encourage a minimum of three instruments as a core ensemble.  Additional instruments can be added at any time.  Most projects take eight to ten weeks for delivery and we require a deposit of one half the total cost to initiate the work.

Freenotes instruments with resonator tubes and the Tuned Drums, can be painted in one of the colors in the color chart. Or you can select from the Rustoleum American Accents satin finishes color chart, the Krylon Fusion for plastic color chart or the Krylon OSHA paints color chart. The keys will not be painted, only the resonator tubes or drums.

We can supply powder coated 3 1/2 inch square steel support posts as an option to the 3 1/2 inch square pressure treated wood posts pictured. These steel posts cost $220 per post, and there are a variety of powder coat colors that can be used. We can match any of the RAL colors. Or you can select from the Cardinal Paint Co. powder coat color chart.

Additional mallets are $20.00 each and are supplied with a coated stainless steel cable, ready for easy replacement onto the instruments. The mallets do not wear out, but occasionally the cables will be broken or cut, so it is a good idea to have a few replacements on hand. These mallets are used for all the instruments except the Tuned Drums and the Contrabass Chimes.

Additional mallets for the contrabass chimes are $25.00 each, and are supplied with a coated stainless steel cable.
