The Manta Ray is a silvery conduit metalophone. The frame is steel conduit with the individual chime tubes suspended on coated steel cable. The same scale is mirrored to the right and left sides but with the note pairs tuned slightly apart to create a wavering effect when they sound together. The range is two octaves and a fifth, and the scale is C major. |
