The Lotus

The Lotus is a three octave metalophone with a tonal range from the bass to the alto registers.  The lower bars are four inch wide aluminum plates, with the bars gradually diminishing in width to 1and 1/2 inches at the upper end of the instrument's range.  The scale is a major pentatonic in G, in a modal form, which gives this scale its enchanting oriental character.  The bars of the Lotus are cable suspended between aluminum uprights for maximum strength and durability.
