The Lotus is supported by three post legs. These legs are sized to be placed in holes three feet deep and ten to twelve inches in diameter. It is recommended that these three holes be dug before the posts are attached to the Lotus frame, because this instrument is quite heavy.
The arrangement of the holes can be determined by measuring the post receptacles on the underside of the instrument. To gain access to these receptacles it is first necessary to turn the instrument over onto its upper surface. Do so only after adequate padding has been placed on the area where the instrument surface will rest. Exercise care with handling this instrument as it is quite heavy and can be easily damaged if dropped.
After the holes have been dug or drilled, it is a simple matter to attach the posts to the receptacles with the screws provided. The posts are numbered 1 through 3 and there are corresponding numbers on the receptacles. Match the number of the post with the number of the receptacle and attach the post.
The instrument can now be placed in the holes dug for the posts. Use even more caution in this process, as the instrument is now considerably heavier than before. If this process is not done carefully, damage to the post legs could easily result.
Once the instrument is placed in the holes, the concrete can be poured.
